Pittsburgh is in Pennsylvania, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Pittsburgh follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

It pains me to say this because I've been coming here for about 4yrs and the majority of my experience has been fantastic. That being said the last two consecutive trips have left me feeling completely dissatisfied. Overbaked and poorly laminated pastries that aren't even close to what I have come to expect from this bakery. I say this in hopes that those in charge make the necessary changes to bring this place back to it's former glory, all the best La Gourmandine.

Stopped here during my 2026 Memorial Day weekend trip to the Pittsburgh area. I’m French (born and raised) and always make a point to try French bakeries when I travel, so I was excited to visit this spot. I tried the lemon tart, abricotine, chouquettes, and chocolate almond croissant. The lemon tart was absolutely incredible and made me travel back to France. The chouquettes were also super authentic and immediately reminded me of home. The abricotine was really good as well. The only item I liked a little less was the chocolate almond croissant, though to be fair I ate it in the evening after buying it that morning, so freshness may have played a role. It just didn’t taste quite as authentic to me as the other pastries. Prices were also surprisingly reasonable compared to what I’m used to around NYC. I paid around $16 for everything, which felt like a great value considering the quality. I stopped by shortly after opening on a rainy Saturday and the place was PACKED, which honestly felt like a very good sign. Despite the crowd, service moved quickly and everyone was friendly. They also have a few tables if you want to sit down for breakfast, lunch, coffee, or a snack, plus a

When I say I can't stop thinking about a place I mean it. I cannot go past the downtown location without stopping in. My family owned a bakery and I'm picky. This place superseded all expectations. The staff are friendly, the baked goods are amazing and don't break the bank unless you order in bulk like I do. Will be recommending to my friends. Definitely worth the stop.
